MissionThe Mission of Wayne County Sporting is dedicated to providing an exceptional soccer platform and support system for player growth both on and off the field to proudly represent all of Wayne County. We aim to promote players towards a healthy lifestyle through our learning environment, consistent sport training, and competition. The club will utilize the player development initiative standards from U.S. Soccer, U.S. Club Soccer, U.S. Youth Soccer, as well as methods from some of the best clubs around the world in order to provide our players the necessary tools to achieve principle-based success. This will allow us to offer a high level of soccer education as well as to create a fun rewarding environment for growth and development of all ages, from youth to adults.
Within our Mission, we desire to provide a place to play for many families that have found it hard to find a place within the evergrowing costs of club soccer. |
Vision
The Vision of Wayne County Sporting is to create an elite development environment encompassing sporting opportunities for players within all of Wayne County. By doing this, we will be able to harness the ability of our club members and provide them with excellent opportunities to excel both on and off the field. Our motives are to build a reputation for developing exceptional athletes and members of the community while aiding those players whom wish to graduate onto programs of the highest caliber possible through the U.S. Soccer Pyramid and beyond; High School, U.S. Soccer Development Academies, Universities and Colleges, Semi-Professional Teams (Wayne County Sporting Men’s and Women’s Team), Professional Teams, and National Teams.
Philosophy
The Philosophy of Wayne County Sporting is that soccer is a sport which holds many positive benefits to all of its participants on and off the field. WCS will offer many avenues for our members to share in the game with us. Throughout the year we plan to offer a variety of programs for all ages and abilities from recreational introduction to soccer, competitive elite academy soccer, small-sided soccer, futsal, coed soccer, street soccer, and our very own Semi-Professional Men’s and Women's teams. WCS also strives to stay in line with U.S. Soccer and our Nation’s “Player Development Initiatives”. Our belief is that by taking this holistic approach our staff and members will be able to create a fantastic organization through togetherness which will promote the best in personal growth and development both on and off the pitch. The bond we aim to create with our members is that of family, friends, and familiarity so that everybody knows one another and we may all cheer each other on!
Badge
Established in 2018, is the Badge of Wayne County Sporting. Wayne County, Michigan was originally founded in 1796 yet today holds 34 cities and 9 Townships.
The colors of red and blue are meant to don respects to the flag of Wayne County. The County that the large majority of our players and families call home. The classic black and white within the soccer ball and crest is there to portray our passion for the beautiful game. The gold is there to show our gratitude to the all the players and families whom have worked hard and continue to do so in order to make all of this happen. The stars within our badge are there to pay tribute to the many players we have whom are and are aiming to become stars both in life and on the pitch!

Purpose
The reason is simple: Wayne County Sporting was created to deliver an elite level of soccer development to the communities of Wayne County. My name is Eric Perilla, a born and raised resident of Wayne County, Michigan. After finally returning home I have come to see the need for developing such a club. I thank you for taking a few moments of your time to read our story.
As a Player/Coach I have had the opportunity to have traveled around the world pursuing my passion of soccer. Over a 10 year span I have spent time playing and trialing with various clubs from 1st division to 4th division from countries including the United States of America, Argentina, Italy, England, Mexico, and Sweden. The soccer experience from my professional, semi-professional, amateur, and youth soccer days have included many formats of the game such as outdoor, indoor, street, futsal, and beach soccer.
As a coach I have had the opportunity to have worked within the US Soccer Development Academy for a 6 year span both in Miami, Florida with Kendall SC and the Metro Detroit Area in Michigan with Vardar SC. I have spent numerous years coaching players, teams, and building organizations with various clubs and leagues. To name just a few, this would include the first official FC Barcelona Escola of the United States, Schulz Academy which is a full time residential soccer program, Miami United FC as a player/coach/adviser, and many other organizations as well. At 28 years old I was named by the NSCAA (National Soccer Coaches Association of America now the USC - United Soccer Coaches) as part of the "30 under 30 - Thirty Coaches pegged as the profession's next generation" in 2014. Over my time as a Coach I have had the opportunity to have been sent to observe and learn from training sessions through the US Soccer Development Academy including the US Senior Men's National Team, US U20 MNT, US U17 MNT, US U16 BNT, US U15 BNT, and the US U14BNT. I have also been invited to training sessions as a Goalkeeping Coach for various US Soccer Training Centers. Over my involvement within all of this I have helped numerous players receive call-ups into various National Team setups as well as go onto play collegiate soccer within the NCAA and NAIA, play semi-professionally, and professionally.
The whole purpose behind creating this club is to bring an environment to Wayne County that will provide an elite level of soccer development to our players while also giving our players a sense of pride in representing the area in which the majority of them will be from. This will be done by offering a higher volume of training days, space, video sessions, and resources than usual. We intend to also use the club as a pipeline to provide players an opportunity to pursue their goals, be it simply just learning the game of soccer at a grassroots level, move into their high school teams, obtain a position on a US Soccer Development Academy team, gain college scholarships, move into the semi-professional level, or pursue a professional career. Most importantly, we will create a fun, competitive, professional development environment for the game of soccer!
The goal is to start with a youth club and then make a semi-professional Men's and Women's team to complete the top of our pyramid.
Lastly, as the club beings to grow and take off we will eventually open leagues and teams for competitive fun on the adult side of the game as well, such as Coed, Over 35, a Masters Over 50, ect!
Thank you for taking the time to look into our organization. If you would like to be a part of this in any way as a player, employee, or volunteer, please feel free to reach out to us.
Sincerely,
Eric Perilla
